Inspired by Bessel van der Kolk's "The Body Keeps the Score" (2014), I created these photographs with my flatmate in 2022.

I photographed these fragmented body parts, scattered like pieces that cannot be understood individually. There's something romantic about the fact that the only thing in the world that shares my pain when ‘I’ am suffering is my body, which always seems to be on my side. Even though we often forget our traumas, our bodies stubbornly remember them and fight on our behalf.

How do we, our pain, and our bodies find a dynamic balance in such a chaotic, symbiotic, and mutually healing relationship? This collection of photographs explores this intricate balance.
